Boy, I had big plans for April! Weddings to attend, maternity boudoir sessions booked, photo sessions for clients celebrating milestone birthdays on the calendar and an important bridal boudoir session, too! All of that came to a screeching halt when our state issued a stay-at-home or shelter in place order.
Not only did the shelter-in-place order order dampen MY spirits, it altered my clients plans! Ladies who had looked forward to celebrating their 50th birthday with a boudoir photo session were disappointed. A mom-to-be went on to give birth without the opportunity of creating special memories with a maternity boudoir photo shoot. And there are many many brides-to-be who have put their plans on hold. It was quite a punch in the gut!

For small businesses like Body Beautiful Boudoir, we took a big hit! But you can’t keep us down for long! Realizing that I needed to have a creative outlet and desperately needed to find a way to connect with my clients, we discovered a way to offer virtual photo sessions. No, the quality of the images is not on par with what we can capture in our studio, but yes, the (virtual) connecting with people has definitely boosted my spirits. . . and my client’s! In fact, one client enjoyed the process so much that she booked a second virtual photo session!
What I have realized during this quiet time, is that what we ALL desire, is connection. In the best of times, connecting one-on-one, face-to-face, is what we crave. But when that is not possible, the internet has provided us a fantastic second option and that is to connect virtually.
